The Serafim Duicu Library was set up in 1992 not long after the educational process started that specific information material was necessary for teaching activity.
The library is in the Dimitrie Cantemir Campus, having its own building with a specific architecture and a reading room. There are six hundred fifty linear meters of shelves for the books which are ranked in alphabetical order according to their fields.
The library's activity is coordinated by the Library Council, whose members are representing the faculties and the college.
The book fund is renewed according to the requirements of the curriculum. The documents of the library are registrated according to the library's functioning economic standards and norms, being then classified on the criteria of field and specialization.
For security reasons, this system is also sustained by a written record, thus being possible to check the degree of using and asking for each document.
The reading room offers the necessary conditions and comfort for study having one hundred forty two seats.
In order to get better information, the library collaborates with all the important publishing houses in our country and with the ones in Tirgu-Mures especially.
During recent years the library has received important donations from the founders and different persons inside and outside Romania, such as the International Monetary Fund, The National Bank of Romania, both consisting of up to date materials printed in very good conditions.
A high quality teaching process can be sustained only by purchasing materials and combining traditional ones (books) with curricula supplies. The library has a special fund of compact disks, cassettes and DVDs, literature and encyclopaedias can be found in the library too.
The organization and the logistics at the library level, as well as, its cooperation with similar institutions all around the country, bring about quality and professionalism of the teaching process.
