The Dimitrie Cantemir VET School Tirgu-Mures was founded in 1992 and its activity is to organize college education for: medical nurses, pharmacy nurses and tourist agents - guide. The graduates are, according to the European Union' s classified lists, level 5 specialists.
Starting from the school's appearance on the town's educational scene and up to now, over 4.500 graduates (from several specializations promoted along these years) have been and are successfully integrated in the socio - professional life. Over 1.150 graduates are working in different European countries, such as: Italy, Belgium, Spain, Germany, Portugal, Hungary, France and so on.
It is worth to mention that our graduates socio - professional insertion, between 1995 - 2010, attains a feasibility factor of 0,91.
The school's educational offer along almost two decades of activity, included specializations, such as: Office and Secretary, Dental Technician, Administration and Services, Hotel Administration and Tourism, Bank Clerk, Administration Assistant and so on.
In 1995 the Serafim Duicu library was established and since then the permanent development of it, is nowadays proved by the rich book stock which numbers over ten thousand titles, meeting our education plans and the specific curricula for each school matter and specialization offered by our school.
The school's first authorizations were obtained between 1999 - 2001, and since the 18th December 2009, The Dimitrie Cantemir VET School is an accredited education institution, being part of the Romanian national education system (O.M. 6207 / 18.12.2009).
The Pharmacy Nurses specialization was set up in 1996 and the Medical Nurses one in 1999.
Starting with 2002 the school's headquarters are located in the Dimitrie Cantemir Campus together with the University which bears the same name. The whole activity takes place in this location and the courses rooms, the labs, the cabinets and the offices are supplied with materials on the European standard levels. Our library and the Junior Hostel are as well the attributes of our European education standards.
The school's Development Project stipulates a permanent enhancement of the quality of education for the following years, a sustained modernization of the existing supplies, an unceasing development of the special materials, the building of some new labs, offices and cabinets.
By achieving the specific line markers, the school's strategy aims at changing the library's status into a Documentation and Information Center. New education and community interests partnerships will be established with European administration units, similar schools across the country and abroad, and the school’s education offer will be diversified by new specializations, all of them connected to the requirements of the national and European labor market.
